Welfare Courses

Safe Hands Workshops in Buckinghamshire are run by Michael Geeson-Brown (ECB Safe Hands Tutor). The workshops are run on evenings at locations across the County, between January and April each year, in response to levels of need identified by leagues and clubs. Courses are booked online and can be accessed via the events page of the BCB Website

What do Leagues and clubs need to do?

Each year Leagues and Clubs identify their training needs for the courses to be run from Jan – March. Once courses are agreed Bucks Cricket Board will publish all events on the BCB Website. Individuals can then choose which course to attend and register accordingly

Safeguarding Young Cricketers

Any coach needing to renew their SPC training will need to do the online Safeguarding Young Cricketers (SYC) e-learning module to refresh knowledge. This course is FREE, to book a place please follow the link below and complete the online registration process. Please note that this course is for SPC/SYC renewals only.

Welfare officers renewing their SPC can now do this online via Sports Coach UK or Leap.

There are a couple exemptions where this will not be the case and these people will need to attend an SPC Course.

1. Overseas Coach who has a recognised qualification but no SPC - Must attend face to face scUK Safeguarding and Protecting children course.

2. UKCC coach who isn’t certificated, only reason being non-attendance at SPC - Must attend face to face scUK Safeguarding and Protecting children course.
